About the coach
Hello, I'm Nigel McBrayne and I set-up MACS School of Judo in April 2012, I ran this as a business for 7 years in a brief career change. The business shut down just before COVID but is still being run as a community club in Wellington.
I have been participating in Judo for over 30 years, within this time I have won several (and lost several) competitions, medals, trophies and most notably gained bronze in the British Closed, qualifying for the Commonwealth Games. I have also been practising as a coach for the last 22 years I learnt from some of the best coaches in Hampshire coupled with the quality coach education and continuous coach improvement from the millions of pounds the British Judo Association puts into their coaching programmes. At the time of leaving the largest Judo Club in Basingstoke it offered a fantastic balance of fun and serious learning of judo.
For over 10 years I coached the Basingstoke squad, managed and coaching hundreds of children in preparation and during competitions across the country and Europe.
